Description
Calling all herpetologists! It’s time to help our froggy friends reach their lily pads using the count-on strategy in this engaging and hands-on number line activity. Frogs: Number Lines Count On to 10 is a visual and tactile way for students to practise early addition using number lines and cut-and-paste frogs as jumping counters.
Students begin by identifying the starting number, placing a frog at the correct spot on the number line, and then using the count-on strategy to jump forward and find the total. This resource makes abstract concepts concrete, helping students visualise the process of addition while also reinforcing number sequencing and place recognition in a playful format.
Two differentiated versions are included: one with a shadow to guide frog placement, and one with a blank number line for more independent problem-solving. This makes the resource perfect for scaffolding or extension work, giving students just the right level of support. Whether used in rotations, small groups, or for fast finisher activities, this frog-themed number line set will have students hopping to their answers with confidence and joy!
