Support your Foundation students in their learning of HASS: Geography, with the My Special Places Assessment task.

Created to coincide with Foundation Geography Australian Curriculum, this activity will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the concepts related to features of familiar places they belong to, why some places are special and how places can be looked after.

Students will record details about a place that is special to them, including its features. Students can draw this or a teacher can scribe students' oral responses on the My Special Places worksheet.

Teachers can assess this task using the My Special Places Assessment Rubric. A blank version of this document has also been included.
