Are you looking for an interactive activity that your students can do with their grandparents, or grandparent figures, on Grandparents’ Day? Our Grandparents’ Day Interview is the resource for you! This set of adorable interview templates have been designed to be inclusive of all grandparent figures and is sure to get your students excited to learn more about their beloved grandparents!

Prior to the lesson, we recommend checking how many grandparents your students have so that you print enough interview templates! Students will require one template for each grandparent they intend to interview. During the interview, students can use the prompts on the page to ask a series of questions about when their grandparents were children. We have included multiple options to suit the needs of your class:

1. A set of 6 interview questions where students make a guess of their grandparent’s answer before it is revealed! Students’ guesses can be completed prior to the Grandparents’ Day visit.
2. A set of 10 interview questions.
3. A blank interview template where students can compose their own interview questions. The questions can be added to the template prior to the Grandparents’ Day visit.

Please note that Foundation and Year 1 students will require the templates to be enlarged to A3 to provide ample space for writing.

We recommend discussing interview techniques with your students prior to their grandparents visiting the classroom, such as making eye contact, using manners and speaking clearly. Encourage them to ask follow-up questions to learn more fun facts about their beloved grandmothers and grandfathers. This template is sure to be a treasured keepsake for many years to come.
