Are you looking for an adorable Grandparents’ Day task that would make the perfect gift? Then our Grandparents’ Day Painting Template is the resource for you! This cute art activity has been designed to be inclusive of all grandparent figures and is sure to be created with love!

Students will create a ‘My Grandparents and Me’ art piece. This could be completed in preparation for Grandparents’ Day to be put on display or given as a gift. Alternatively, they could complete it with their grandparents during a Grandparents’ Day classroom visit!

Prior to the lesson, we recommend checking how many sets of grandparents your students have and how many art pieces will need to be created. Students will draw and paint a picture of themselves with their grandparents on the included template. We have included multiple versions of this to suit the needs of your students. Detailed instructions are also included in the resource.

You may wish to provide craft items for the students to decorate their completed art pieces with, such as cotton wool or yarn for hair, pipe cleaners for glasses and sequins or rhinestone stickers for jewellery.

The completed art pieces would look wonderful on display alongside our Grandparents’ Day banner or poster!

If students’ grandparents are unable to attend, we recommend requesting that they bring in a photo of them with their grandparents that can be used as a painting prompt. Alternatively, they can draw and paint a picture of themselves with another special person in their life.
