Are you looking for an adorable Grandparents’ Day task that would make the perfect gift? Our Grandparents’ Day Poem templates are the resource for you! This cute writing activity has been designed to be inclusive of all grandparent figures and is sure to be created with love!

Prior to the lesson, we recommend checking how many sets of grandparents your students have and how many poems will need to be created. Students will use the templates provided to compose a special poem for their grandparents. This could be completed in preparation for Grandparents’ Day to be put on display or given as a gift. In addition to detailed instructions, this resource includes a variety of writing and poem templates, including options to draw pictures or write describing words in hearts, write describing words or sentences on lines or write acrostic poems! We have also included a range of face toppers that can be decorated with facial features and added to the top of the completed poems.

Please note that if your students are decorating face toppers to adorn their completed poems, you may wish to provide craft items, such as cotton wool or yarn for hair, pipe cleaners for glasses and sequins or rhinestone stickers for jewellery.

If students do not have grandparents, we recommend that they write a poem about another special person in their life.
