Description

Grouping Piles of Treasure is a versatile treasure-themed resource that will allow students to practise solving multiplication problems using strategies related to modelling and equal grouping.

This resource includes 24 high-colour task cards and 12 low-colour cards. These cards are ideal to be used for individual work in small groups. To complete the problems, students will place a card in a write-and-wipe sleeve and use a whiteboard marker to group the treasure according to the number provided. They can then skip count to find the total and complete the number sentence at the bottom. Students have the option of using a recording sheet to write their number sentences.

Please note that the high-colour cards include pictures of different types of treasure, which students will group. They will use a counting strategy (such as skip counting) to find the total. The low colour cards have been left blank for students to create their own groups of objects (either drawings or physical objects such as blocks or teddies).
