Looking for a fun way to reinforce counting to 10 concepts with your students? Then, our Hairy Monsters Counting to 10 Mats are your resource!

This hands-on activity allows your students to practise counting skills related to identifying numbers, creating collections and counting to 10 using one-to-one correspondence, as well as fine motor skills!

This resource includes six counting mats in high and low colour options. Each mat features four adorable monsters who need some spiky hair! Students will need to identify the number below each monster, count out that number of matchsticks and assemble them around the monster’s head.

Please note that you will also need matchsticks in addition to the counting mats. Alternatively, you can use pop sticks, play dough or place the mats into write and wipe sleeves and have students add hair with whiteboard markers! We recommend enlarging this resource to A3.
