Hard or Soft? STATE FONTS
Description
This activity is a great way to engage students in data collection and graphing. They can be used as a stand-alone Maths activity or can be connected to a Science investigation about objects and the materials they are made of.
Students will practise collecting data, graphing the data and comparing data. After sorting given items to determine if they are hard or soft, students will find ten items in their classroom to sort and will display and analyse their data. For support students, you might like to collect items together in a basket prior to the lesson.
Use the four activities included individually, or combine together for a multi-lesson unit.
Suitable for individual, paired or small group work.
Print as is or enlarge to A3 to give students more space to work.
