The best place to start with encouraging a celebration of diversity in your classroom is to initiate conversations amongst your students regarding the diverse cultures already represented. This PowerPoint poses a number of questions designed for students to share their unique experiences, and stories of their family.  You could project onto an electronic whiteboard and have students Turn and Talk. Students could write a written response to a question, or students could work in small groups answering questions. Editable slides have been added at the end so you can add your own discussion starters or questions.
