Health Assessment Years 5 & 6: Asking for Advice
Description
Support your Year 5 and 6 students in their learning of Health: Interacting With Others, with the Asking for Advice Assessment task.
Created to coincide with Year 5 and 6 Health Australian Curriculum, this activity will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the concepts related to influencing relationships, valuing diversity, managing emotions and consent.
In this task, students will read letters written by school-aged children who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships. Using an empathetic tone, students will suggest appropriate responses each child could apply to manage the situation.
This resource includes a blank version of the advice column that can be used in various ways:
- Teachers can add their own letters for students to respond to
- Students can add their own letters and responses
- Students can add letters for a partner to respond to
For students who require more space for writing, it is recommended to print this resource on A3 paper. Teachers can assess this task using the Asking for Advice Assessment Rubric. A blank version of this document has also been included.
