This Protective Behaviours, Digital Safety & Food Choices Health Unit is exactly what you need to get started!The 8-lesson unit helps students identify and demonstrate protective behaviours and help-seeking strategies they can use to help them and others stay safe (AC9HP2P05). They will also investigate a range of health messages and practices in their community and discuss their purposes (AC9HP2P06).This unit helps students to identify protective behaviours they might feel during unsafe situations. Through stories and discussion, they develop an awareness of help-seeking strategies appropriate to help themselves and others stay safe. Students conclude the first half of the unit by communicating their understanding by responding to a series of questions related to the topics covered.In the second half of the unit, students investigate a range of health messages, healthy and unhealthy. They explore how these messages are delivered and practically apply changes they can make to their food choices. Students explore sustainability and persuade an audience to make more sustainable choices. Through discussion, students explore digital safety, including how to act and be safe in a digital environment. To conclude their unit students will describe ways to be healthy and sustainable.
