Description

Support your Year 3 and 4 students in their learning of Health: Interacting With Others, with the Responding to Emergencies and Unsafe Situations Assessment task.Created to coincide with the Year 3 and 4 Health Australian Curriculum, this activity will allow students to demonstrate their understanding of the concepts related to the emotional responses people experience in challenging circumstances and the appropriate strategies that should be followed in an emergency or an unsafe situation.Students will choose to respond to one of two scenarios: an unsafe situation and an emergency.  They will consider which events could have been emotional triggers, what emotions may have been experienced, the warning signs that could be felt and which strategies would be most effective in keeping themselves, and others, safe. Students will record their responses in the form of a postcard letter. A blank and lined version of this task has been included, as well as the option to print the postcard separately on A4 paper for display purposes.Teachers can assess this task using the included Responding to Emergencies and Unsafe Situations Assessment Rubric. A blank version of this document has also been included so you can cater to your extension and support students as needed.
