Celebrate Mother’s Day with this meaningful and low-prep writing activity! Students will enjoy completing this sweet worksheet by reflecting on why their mum (or another special person) is the best. This activity encourages thoughtful expression and gratitude through writing and drawing.

How to Complete

This resource includes three clipart options (boy, girl, flowers) in 24mm, 18mm and 14mm line widths to suit the needs of your class. In addition, we have included editable templates so you can easily cater for students with diverse families.

Simply select and print your chosen worksheet. Students will complete the sentence starter ‘My Mum is the best because…’ and can draw a picture of their mums. The finished tasks can be backed on coloured cardstock and displayed in the classroom alongside one of our Mother’s Day banners before being sent home as a lovely Mother’s Day keepsake.

Additional Tips

1. Begin the lesson by discussing the positive traits and acts of kindness mums and caregivers show.
2. Create a word bank on the board to support vocabulary.
3. Encourage the use of descriptive words.
4. Younger students may benefit from having the templates enlarged to A3.
5. For a pop of colour, trim and glue the finished worksheets on coloured cardstock before displaying.
