Students will love creating their very own friendship bracelet as they enter their school era! This creative craft is ideal to be completed at the start of the school year after reading the story First Day by Andrew Daddo.

Using the included templates, each student will make a named friendship bracelet! To create their bracelet, students will decorate their ‘beads’ using scrunched-up tissue paper, paint, pom poms or another suitable craft alternative before cutting their beads and attaching it to the ‘thread’. In addition to the printable templates, this resource includes detailed instructions with an example and an eye-catching banner. Use the banner to create a beautiful display of your students’ completed crafts. Depending on your display space, the resource could be enlarged to A3 size to allow more decorative space.

Please note that to complete the craft, students will require access to craft materials (paint, pom poms, glitter glue or tissue paper), scissors and craft glue. Printing the templates on thick cardstock (this can be white or coloured) is recommended. Younger students may require assistance with the cutting and assembling of their crafts.

2. Print the beads on coloured card and have younger students use the beads to practise spelling their name.
