Description

Engage your students in the exploration of text features with the Informative or Imaginative? Compare & Contrast activity, designed for teachers seeking to enhance their students' understanding of these two literary genres.
During whole class reading sessions, use the arrow labels to identify text features in informative and imaginative texts. Then use the cut-and-paste activity to sort text features by the text type they are likely to appear in.
Three levelled versions of the activity are provided to allow for support for students of all ability levels.
This activity is most effective in small group settings with teacher support, fostering collaborative learning. Print the materials on A4 paper for individual student use or enlarge to A3 for small group work.
This resource pairs well with Informative or Imaginative? Read & Draw.
