Practice collecting, recording and graphing data as a whole class.
Students work as a class to answer a yes or no question, and then sit down or stand up to signify the answer they have chosen. Then they count the number of students for yes (standing) and for no (sitting) and drag the digits into the slide to show how many answered yes and how many answered no. Afterwards, students make a graph with thumbs up for yes and thumbs down for no to see what it looks like in an organised manner.
Use this as a whole class activity. Perfect for a tune-in/warm-up activity or for an explicit introduction to data collection.
