Our Investigating Vocabulary task is the perfect activity to assist your students in developing their word knowledge and, by doing so, their ability to comprehend texts! The science of reading has proven that teaching vocabulary concepts, such as understanding the meaning of words, using words in context and recalling synonyms, helps students become more effective readers, especially when presented with challenging or complex texts.

Students will use our eye-catching template to demonstrate their understanding of vocabulary words, including:

2. a definition (we recommend that students write a definition in their own words)
