This purposeful activity has been designed to accompany a whole class reading of the picture book Koala Lou by Mem Fox. These no-prep worksheets will allow you to check your students’ ability to make meaningful connections with the story based on their prior knowledge and text clues. These connections are so important because they enable students to make sense of what they are reading.

After reading the book, students will make a connection between the text and themselves, other texts and the world.

This task is perfect for independent work, a small group or whole class task, scribing, evidence for assessment or for a relief folder!

Students may benefit from having this resource enlarged to A3 to provide more space for drawing and writing.
