This fun activity has been designed to accompany a whole class reading of the picture book Koala Lou by Mem Fox. These no-prep worksheets will allow you to check your students’ understanding of the key elements of the story, including the characters, setting and plot.

To complete the task, students will complete a summary of the text. We have included multiple options to suit the needs of your class, including:

1. Drawing the characters, settings and events (beginning, middle and end)
2. Writing the characters, settings and events (beginning, middle and end)
3. Writing the characters, settings and events (somebody, wanted, but, so, then)

This task is perfect for independent work, a small group or whole class task, scribing, evidence for assessment or for a relief folder!

Early Years and Foundation students may benefit from having this resource enlarged to A3 to provide more space for drawing and writing.
