Language Flip & Find is an engaging and interactive game that will challenge your students to understand how language is used to interact with others when asking for and providing information, making offers, exclaiming, requesting and giving commands.

Using bold and colourful clipart, Language Flip & Find will capture the attention of your students as they determine what type of utterance the writing on their card is. This resource includes game boards in both high and low colour versions, providing a fun rotation for small groups to enjoy.

Eight cards have been included for each type of communication, with students exploring the following during play:

1. Asking for information
2. Providing information
3. Making offers
4. Exclamations
5. Requests
6. Commands

Language Flip & Find could be used to enhance speaking and listening skills, as a vehicle for analysing interaction types, during Literacy Rotations or as an early finisher task. Versatile in its application, but simple by design, it is sure to become a game on high rotation in your classroom. Younger students may need adult assistance to read the writing on the game cards, or strategically grouping students to ensure a strong reader is in each group may help with this.
