Help students recognise how authors use pronouns to link to something previously mentioned in the text with this engaging worksheet.
Four variations of this activity allow you to choose the one that best suits your students’ context and ability levels.
Students will read a short story or collection of sentences, highlight the pronouns and choose two pronouns to explain what they identify in the story. A support version of this task lists the pronouns for the students to identify. In the extension task, students must use given pronouns to construct their sentences.
A blank template has also been provided, which can be adapted to any classroom text you choose!
This resource works well as an independent task, post-assessment or paired investigation.
