Locations & Opportunities Template
Description
Students look into the different opportunities that are available to people in different locations.
The locations that are included in the template are:
- city
- rural
- beach
- farm.
Students will initially brainstorm the opportunities that come to mind for each location before looking deeper and researching each location.
After completing the activity, choose to discuss: How do the opportunities differ for people living in a city compared to those living in a rural area? What job opportunities are more prevalent for people living close to the beach than those living on a farm?
Model your expectations for students by starting the template together on an interactive whiteboard before sending students to work independently.
The template prints across two pages. Students will need scissors and glue to assemble the template. Have them cut and assemble the flaps before beginning the writing phase to increase the amount of room for each location. Students can write on the back of each flap.
This resource is included in the Health Years 5 & 6 Identities and Change Unit.Additional information
