The students engage in a board game to work on long vowel sounds. There are 5 board game mats, each covering one of the following long vowel sounds: a, e, i, o and u.

Students play by taking turns to roll a 6-sided dice, moving their counter forward that many spaces, then reading the word that they lay on. The first student to the finish square of the board wins.
