Looking at Animal Adaptations: Lift the Flap
Description
Support your Year 5 students in their Biological Sciences: Surviving in Specific Habitats unit of work with the Looking at Animal Adaptations: Lift-the-Flap task.
Created to coincide with the Year 5 Biological Sciences Australian Curriculum, this activity will provide students with the opportunity to apply their understanding of the structural and behavioural adaptations of animals living in hot and cold habitats.
To complete this task, students will pose a question to guide their research of an animal that lives in a hot habitat, such as an arid desert, and one that lives in a cold habitat, such as the Arctic. Students will draw a picture of their chosen habitats and animals on the windowpane cover and record their investigation questions and information about their animals’ adaptations on the following page. When finished, students can cut along the dotted lines and glue the pages together.
We have included extra recording sheets for students who wish to research multiple animals.
This resource is part of our Biological Sciences Year 5 UNIT PLAN.Additional information
