Description

Pack your bags and get ready to hike! In this collaborative digital game, students climb a mountain by correctly answering questions about the mass of everyday objects. As they move higher, the scenery changes—through grassy fields, rocky ledges, and snowy peaks—creating an exciting sense of progression.

Students are presented with two objects and asked to compare their mass using vocabulary such as heavier and lighter. With each correct answer, they take another step up the mountain trail. If played with more than one player, students work together to reach the summit as a team.

At the end of the hike, a polaroid-style snapshot shows how far the team made it and displays their final score—encouraging students to replay and push a little further each time.

Key Learning Outcomes:

  • ✅ Compare the mass of common objects using terms like heavier and lighter
  • ✅ Build early measurement vocabulary and understanding
  • ✅ Develop observation and reasoning skills through visual comparisons
  • ✅ Participate in cooperative gameplay with a shared goal
  • ✅ Foster perseverance and engagement through repeated play

How to Play:

  4. The game can be played individually or in a team with each player contributing to the climb.
  5. At the end, a polaroid snapshot shows how far the player or team made it up the mountain.
