Description

Allow your young learners to play, explore, count and create with these themed counting mats.   These eye-catching counting mats are a great way for students to practise making collections of numbers from 1 to 20. In addition to practising key counting concepts, such as number recognition and one-to-one correspondence, this hands-on activity allows students to develop their fine motor skills, including their hand and finger strength and coordination. Pinching, rolling, flattening and shaping play dough to create a set number of hot chips will help to strengthen the small muscles in the hands and fingers whilst simultaneously developing bilateral coordination, which is essential for daily tasks, such as using tools, tying shoelaces or buttoning shirts.   Simply print on thick cardstock or pop into write-and-wipe sleeves, get some play dough, and your students will be ready to make delicious hot chips to place into the container.   No play dough? No problem! Cut yellow cardstock into long strips or grab some popsticks for students to count and place on the counting mats.
