Making Inferences: Feelings LET’S HIKE
Description
Students correctly answer questions to reach the top of the mountain. With each step, the scenery changes—from grassy fields to rocky cliffs and snowy peaks—motivating players to keep going. At the end, a polaroid snapshot captures how far they made it up the trail and the score they earned!
In this version, students read short sentences and make inferences about how the person in the sentence must be feeling. This encourages students to read between the lines, use context clues, and build empathy as they interpret the implied emotions of different characters and scenarios.
Let’s Hike – Making Inferences: Feelings is ideal for reading comprehension lessons, SEL integration, or building emotional literacy. Students can play as a team on the whiteboard or independently via the QR code while working toward the shared goal of reaching the summit together.
