Use this worksheet challenge during a teaching and learning sequence on using informal units and balance scales to compare the weight of objects. Students will be asked to complete a range of measuring challenges using a range of easy-to-access classroom objects, a set of balance scales and some marbles. Students will measure how many marbles the MASS of the classroom objects is equal to. If you don't have access to marbles, you could always swap out for another manipulative.
