Students will develop their ability to measure using informal units with this fun activity. Using non-standard units of measurement is a great precursor for formal measurement lessons.   To use, cut out the images and provide each student with their own recording sheet and a range of units of measurement (examples include blocks, MAB units, paperclips, match sticks).   They will then select an item to use when measuring each picture and record their answers in the boxes.   Themes included are: farm, transport and under the sea.   Also available in an Easter theme.
