Measures of Turn: Maps It is a hands-on activity that will challenge your students’ ability to read and respond to directional instructions.

Students will need to cut and paste images onto a map, following a set of instructions to ensure they are placed correctly. Instructions will include language such as quarter turn, half-turn, three-quarter turn, full turn, right and left. Once complete, students can create a path to help the character navigate through the map and back to their misplaced mode of travel.

With three engaging themes, including Lost in Space, On the Farm and Treasure Island, students will delight in helping Abi the Astronaut, Frankie the Farmer and Pedro the Pirate return to their spaceship, tractor and ship respectively. Each worksheet uses the same design, allowing students to gain familiarity and confidence as their knowledge increases.
