This book response task for Misery Guts by Morris Gleitzman has students plot the journey Keith and his parents took on the way to Australia.

Students will begin by creating a postcard based on one of the locations Keith writes to his friends from. Following this, they will locate each city the family visits on a world map. Students will join these cities to create a route from England to Australia and then research some fun facts about each country they visited. Finally, students will create their own journey from Australia to England, visiting countries they find interesting and adding more facts about each.
