Missing External Features Worksheet
Description
What is the animal? It is whatever your students make it. This activity aligns with the Foundation Biological Sciences curriculum, involving students in observing external features of plants and animals and describing ways they can be grouped based on these features. This resource contains the picture of an animal, but it has no external features. Students need to look at the animal and determine what animal they think it is, or what animal they want it to be. They then need to fill in the external features that are missing so that it becomes a real animal once again.
Print on A4 paper. You may want students to draw directly onto the paper or you can place it in a write and wipe sleeve for repeated use. You may also want to turn it into a craft activity and use wool, materials and scrap paper to complete the animal.
