Money Digi-Tool
Description
Help students build essential money-handling skills with our interactive Money Digi-Tool! Designed to support financial literacy, this tool allows students to practise counting money, making payments, and calculating change. Whether working with coins, notes, or both, students can explore different denominations and their combinations to deepen their understanding of money concepts.
KEY FEATURES OF THE MONEY TOOL
Customisable Currency Options
Adapt learning to real-world financial contexts by selecting from AUD, NZD, GBP, or USD currencies. This feature helps students recognise and work with the money they’ll use in everyday life.
Flexible Money Combinations
Choose to work with coins only, notes only, or both for varied complexity. This allows educators to scaffold learning, starting with simple exercises and gradually increasing difficulty.
Hidden or Visible Totals
Use the eye icon to toggle running totals on or off. Keeping the totals hidden adds an extra challenge, encouraging students to rely on mental maths and estimation skills.

TWO LEARNING THEMES: COUNTING MONEY & PRICE AND CHANGE
Counting Money
Strengthen students’ counting skills by letting them interact with money in a structured way.
- Choose a grid with 1 to 4 segments to calculate up to four different amounts at the same time.
- Set a target amount for students to reach, helping them practise counting and adding different denominations.
Price and Change
Teach students how to make payments and calculate change for various prices.
- Set your own target price or let the tool generate one within a given range.
- Choose an amount to pay in cash and calculate how much change is needed.
- Enable the Check Change feature to have the price tag turn green or red, instantly showing whether the students’ calculation is correct.
With the Money Digi-Tool, financial literacy becomes an interactive and engaging experience. Whether counting coins, adding up notes, or making real-life transactions, students will develop the confidence and skills they need for everyday money management!
