Description

Use this weather recording resource to support your teaching within the Foundation Earth and Space Science strand.

In this resource, students are asked to record a symbol to represent the weather, each day over a few weeks. The idea behind this is to introduce the student to the idea of weather trends, and how weather can change over a period.

You might like to have students complete this each morning individually, or compile one together as a class.  You could even send it home and have students work on this with their families.

Versions for weeks starting on a Sunday and Monday are included, as well as a template for weekdays only.

Why not try this...

At the completion of the task,  assign a lego or unifix cube colour to each weather type.  Lay one of these on each day of the month long record. These can then be added on top of each other to create 'towers' of each weather type. When these are placed next to each other in a line - you can easily see the weather trends over the month whilst also introducing your students to data representations in the form of a bar graph! Complete each month of the year for a hands-on a visual representation of our weather.
