Your students can practise adding ones, tens and hundreds to numbers beyond 10 000 with these engaging worksheets.

The worksheets investigate the effect on place value in large numbers when the number added results in the digit being more than 10. There are sections for students to answer with digits and written words. When they have found their answers, they then use their place value to solve a mystery code. The code is an instruction for them to show their teacher, for example, ‘tell a joke’.

There are three versions of the worksheet available. The first is for adding one more, the second is for adding ten more and the third is for adding one hundred more.
