Celebrate Mother’s Day with this low-prep craft activity that students can complete with their mums! Students will love creating a beautiful crown to honour their mothers, mother figures, or special caregivers.

How to Complete

This resource includes crowns featuring cute clipart as well as blank circles for students to personalise with their own drawings, such as a portrait of their mum or a Mother’s Day symbol. Each crown includes editable text, allowing you to change the word ‘mum’ to suit the needs of your class.

1. Print the crown and headband templates on white or coloured cardstock.
2. Students cut out the templates, add their name to the crown, and decorate it with craft materials such as pom poms, beads, gems, sequins, glitter, stickers, or other embellishments. Craft materials can also be added to the headband strap once the crown is assembled.
3. To assemble the crown, students will require adult support to ensure the headband straps are cut to the correct size. The headband can be glued or stapled to the crown piece. Since the crown is designed to be worn by students’ mums, it could be completed together with them, or an adult in the classroom can help estimate the correct head size.

Additional Tips

1. Students can write a heartfelt message on the inside of the crown or the strap.
