My Country Writing Template is for students to record information they have found out about the local Country they live on. It is recommended that the children listen to a talk from a First Nations Australian Elder. You may wish to organise an incursion or find a video clip of an Elder delivering information about your local Country. Students need to identify the correct name of Country they live on. They can then write about the activities they like to do on their Country. This may include games, socialising, sports etc. There is a scaffolded version of the template or a blank one to encourage the students to write independently. This activity is part of our Geography Year 2 Unit Plan.
