My Expanded Notation & Form Mat
Description
My Expanded Notation/Form Mat gets students to represent the place value of each digit within a given number, in a variety of ways.This resource contains three different mats. One for double digit numbers, one for three digit numbers and another for four digit numbers.Students represent their number in a variety of ways; drawing their number with MAB blocks, identifying how many ones, tens, hundreds or thousands are in their number, what the value of each digit in their number is and writing their number in expanded notation/form.These mats can be used in a variety of different ways. Some ideas are; place them into a plastic sleeve so they can be used multiple times with a whiteboard marker, display them on the IWB, have students complete on an iPad. |
