Students will love creating an adorable mailbox that will hold a collection of letters from their classmates.

Using the included templates, each student will create a mailbox with a pocket that will hold special messages or drawings from their peers. After assembling the mailbox, students can add detail to the templates by adding a rainbow or heart cut-out, their photograph or a drawing that reflects their personality.

Students can then use one of the included letter templates to write special messages or draw pictures for their classmates. To ensure the task runs smoothly, we recommend putting students in small groups and having them write letters for their peers in the group. This ensures each student receives the same amount of mail in their mailbox!

The completed mailboxes can be attached to desks or stuck to a window or wall. You can create an eye-catching display by printing the included banner and hanging the completed mailboxes below it!

To suit the needs of your class, this resource includes:

In addition to the printable templates, students will need coloured card for gluing the completed mailboxes to, writing and colouring utensils, scissors and glue. Whilst not essential, students may like to add craft items to their mailboxes, such as sequins, pom poms, cotton wool and stickers.

Younger students may benefit from having the templates enlarged to A3. They may also require assistance with the cutting, gluing and assembling of their mailboxes.
