Mystery Thing Worksheet
Description
Your students can discover whether unusual items are living, non-living or once-living with this captivating activity.
Place a mystery item in a designated area of your classroom at the start of each week. Suggested items include probiotic yoghurt, fossils, an avocado stone, etc. Ensure that each of your students visit the mystery thing and complete this worksheet during the week.
You might like to add even more mystery to the activity by inventing a story about who placed the items in the classroom each week. The appearance of the mystery thing could become an exciting Monday morning discovery.
This activity facilitates students to discover what makes something living, non-living or once-living and it encourages discussion. Simply print out enough copies of the worksheet for your students, hunt for some suitable mystery thing items and start the fun. Your students could write their information in the boxes and/or draw.
