Description

National Sorry Day is commemorated on the 26th May every year in recognition of the pain and suffering experienced by those Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples who were forcibly removed from their families under Australian Government laws from the 1800’s and the 1970’s.

This resource contains a brief overview for students on the history of Sorry Day and the reasons behind its importance.

An alternative version has been created for Foundation and Grade 1 students as well as a version without the clipart images.
