Needs vs. Wants Decryptor
Description
Sort examples of needs and wants with this inventive cut-and-paste activity for the upper years.
This isn’t a usual cut-and-paste sorting task. Students initially sort 16 examples of needs and wants into the correct positions on the backing page of the decryptor. Once complete, they will cut out the windows on the front page of the decryptor, attach it to the back page using a split pin allowing it to spin and reveal correct answers no matter which angle it is turned.
There are two options of backing pages to choose from, one with labels for needs and wants and one without. Choose to give the one without labels to students who would enjoy the challenge of working out the correct positions of the needs and wants based on how the decryptor is constructed. up
Print on thick card for added durability. Potentially cut out the windows on the front page using a craft knife ahead of time or even poke holes through to give students a starting point. This resource is included in the Year 5 Economics and Business Unit.Additional information
