A collection of 55 non-fiction question prompts.

Print each set of magnifying glasses (before, during, after) onto different coloured card. Alternatively, there is a coloured version to print on white card.

Once printed, cut out each magnifying glass and glue the handle to a popstick.

Place each set into a jar, container, ziplock bag or envelope, so the question prompts are ready to use during guided or shared reading.

Ask a student to pull a magnifying glass at various times for the class, group or student to answer about the text.

These question prompts help to evaluate a child’s comprehension skills when reading or listening to a non-fiction text.
