Description

Students will have the opportunity to practise expanding descriptions of places to form noun groups with this interactive Noun Groups Accordion Activity.

Each accordion strip includes a photograph split in half with a matching determiner and noun. Students will cut out and fold the accordion strips and write words in the boxes to create detailed noun group phrases. They will enjoy holding their accordions so that each half of the picture connects and then opening them to reveal the rest of their noun group inside.

Extend students by having them use the noun group phrases to create descriptive sentences or paragraphs for each photograph. This resource makes a perfect link between visual prompts and expanded noun group construction.
