Description

Have your students practise identifying which number is greater, less than, or equal to with this engaging farm-themed task card set. The Numbers to 20 Task Cards: Comparing Numbers activity is a fun and practical way for students to deepen their number sense while learning how to compare two values using mathematical symbols.

This set includes 42 cards, each displaying two numbers between 0 and 20. Students will compare the numbers on each card and decide which symbol to use: greater than (>), less than (<), or equal to (=). The clear and consistent format makes it easy for young learners to complete the task independently or in pairs, supporting both classroom instruction and maths rotations.

To make the activity even more interactive, try setting up a simple farm roleplay scenario. Students can collect plastic eggs or counters in small baskets to represent the two numbers on a card. They then compare the “baskets” and write the correct symbol. This hands-on extension is perfect for kinaesthetic learners and brings even more excitement to the maths block!
