Description

Use these cards to help prompt your students when telling object-based news.

 

The cards include:

  1. Hello: a reminder to greet the class
  2. What: what is the object?
  3. Category: is it an animal, food, plant, game?
  4. Parts: what are the main parts of the object? How are they used?
  5. Found: where do you find it?
  6. Information: any other interesting information
  7. Thank You: a reminder to thank the class for listening
 

Begin using as many or as few of the cards as you like, and gradually include more as your students become more capable.

 

Use these cards in a structured manner by holding up one card at a time to prompt students to talk about that card. You could also place them on a board for students to point to, lay them on the ground for students to step on, or use them as small group prompts for discussion or writing.
