Oral Language Bingo: On the Farm can be used to help students practise their oral language skills.

While playing this game, students can practise describing and comprehending oral descriptions of farm animals. It is recommended that this game be played in small groups so that teacher observations can be made. An optional teacher observation slip has been included.

Six adorable ‘On the Farm’ themed game boards and cards have been included in high and low colour options. Each student in the group will need a game board and counters.

Depending on your students' ability, the teacher or a student can be the bingo leader. The bingo leader will flip a card and describe the image to the group without using its name. We recommend that students take turns to be the bingo leader. We have included teacher reference pages with description prompts.

If students have a picture on their game board that matches the bingo leader’s description, they cover it with a counter. Like traditional bingo, the first student to cover four pictures in a row says, “Bingo!” and wins the game.

This resource is available in our basic fun font and all Australian state fonts.

Our SCUMPS Display or SCUMPS Posters may be useful when students are playing this game. The poster could be discussed as part of the introduction, or students could have a copy handy when playing.
