Order of Operations Card Game
Description
A strategic and fun order of operations ‘go fish-style’ game to incorporate in your Year 6 maths lessons.
Put your students’ knowledge of the order of operations to the test in this easy-to-play card game.
Each student begins with five cards and a target number they are trying to create. They must collect cards to create a number sentence that, when solved, results in their number.
Cards include numerals 0–9, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, equals signs, and brackets.
If you wish to make the game simpler, remove the brackets cards. Make it quicker by removing the equal signs (i.e. students don’t need one to solve their sum).
For four players, print at least four copies of numeral cards, two of each maths symbol page, one of each target number page and one of the brackets page. Colour and Black and White versions are included in the download.
