This game is perfect for teaching students how to use the partitioning strategy for addition. Partitioning gives children a different way of visualising maths problems and helps them work out large sums in their head. Use this game in small group work and maths rotations. Laminate the cards and add spinners (or paperclips as a replacement) to the tens and ones. Students will spin and add the tens units to the ones units ending up with the total.
