Description

Peg It: Candles is an engaging and hands-on game that will challenge your students to utilise their developing fine motor and counting skills.   This game suits individuals, partners or small groups. Each student will need a cake, pegs (with candles attached) and playing cards. They will take turns to flip a card and use their fine motor skills to either collect or remove the candle pegs from their cake. The winner is the first student to collect the target number of candles.   As students repeatedly squeeze the ends of the pegs, they are strengthening the small muscles in their hands, fingers and thumbs. The action of pegging the candle to the cake also helps to develop their bilateral and hand-eye coordination skills.   Printing the cakes and playing cards on thick cardstock is recommended. Please note that you will need to cut the cards and candles, and attach the candles to pegs, prior to students playing the game.   This resource comes in colour and black and white versions, allowing you to choose a version that suits your classroom needs.   It’s time to begin collecting candles!
